Six People Die in Iowa Shooting Spree, Suspected Gunman Also Dies

(MENAFN) Six people lost their lives in a shooting incident on Monday in the US state of Iowa, with authorities also confirming that the suspected attacker died after apparently inflicting a self-gunshot wound during a police confrontation.

According to police, the violence unfolded across multiple locations in Muscatine, including two private homes and a commercial site. Officers said four of the victims were discovered dead inside the same residence when they arrived at the scene.

Investigators believe the incident was connected to a domestic dispute. They added that all of the victims are thought to be relatives of the suspected shooter.

Reports indicate that emergency services were alerted at around 12:12 p.m. local time (1712 GMT). When officers reached one of the homes, they found four individuals already deceased.

Authorities identified the suspect as 52-year-old Ryan Willis McFarland, a resident of Muscatine. Police said he had already left the location before responding officers arrived.
